Java Developer – Windchill

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop deep, low-level Windchill customizations using Java, PTC APIs, and PTC customization frameworks.
• Extend Windchill behavior through services, listeners, processors, and client-side customizations.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into reliable solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Support Windchill upgrades while maintaining a clean, upgrade-friendly customization layer.
• Participate in code and design reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of Java development experience with a strong focus on Windchill customization.
• Deep hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API, customization frameworks, data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong Java object-oriented design, performance engineering, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, Windchill client-side customization, and Type and Attribute Management.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle or SQL Server, plus experience supporting Windchill upgrades.

Nice to have

• PTC Windchill development certifications.
• PTC ThingWorx development experience.
• Windchill RV&S customization experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill.
• Experience operating Windchill in the cloud.
