Director, Construction Project Control (Semiconductor Construction)

Expected salary: $152,000–$266,000 per year; exact salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Establish and lead the integrated project controls framework for major semiconductor fab construction and expansion projects.
• Develop and manage integrated master schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, cleanroom delivery, facilities systems, equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness.
• Control project budgets, commitments, forecasts, cash flow, cost trends, change orders, contingency, and total installed cost.
• Implement objective progress measurement, earned value management, performance dashboards, risk registers, change control, and predictive reporting.
• Assess contractor schedules, cost forecasts, progress claims, productivity, recovery plans, commercial submissions, and contractual exposure.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary project controls teams while coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, EHSS, quality, commissioning, finance, contracts, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Typically 12+ years of experience in project controls, planning, cost management, and project execution, including significant large-scale capital project experience.
• Experience leading project controls for major industrial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or similarly complex facilities.
• Experience managing large CAPEX programs involving EPC/EPCM contractors, multiple construction packages, and complex interfaces.
• Strong expertise in integrated master scheduling, critical path analysis, cost forecasting, earned value management, risk analysis, and change control.
• Experience with complex construction sequencing, long-lead procurement, system turnover, commissioning, and operational readiness.
• Ability to independently challenge contractor schedules, cost forecasts, productivity assumptions, progress claims, and recovery plans.
• Experience developing and presenting executive-level project performance reports.
• Experience managing and developing multidisciplinary project controls teams across multiple contractors or locations.
