Strategic Finance Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; full-time salaried employees must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: US $150,000–$225,000 with equity; Canada CA$150,000–CA$225,000 with equity.

What you will do

• Own the driver-based operating model for the core business and new insurance products and business lines.
• Run annual budgeting, long-range planning, monthly and quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly business reviews.
• Translate financial results into executive narratives and decision-ready insights for the CFO, founders, board, and investors.
• Build financial cases for new products, verticals, channels, and partnerships, including market sizing, economics, capital commitment, and returns.
• Compare live results with underwriting assumptions and monitor CAC, payback, retention, LTV, and contribution margin.
• Underwrite vendor spend, support negotiations, evaluate planning systems, and support corporate development and build-versus-buy-versus-partner decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally including 2+ years at a reputable investment bank, corporate development group, or private equity firm and 2+ years in strategic finance or FP&A at a high-growth company.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a similarly quantitative field.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based operating models, three-statement mechanics, scenario and sensitivity analysis, accounting concepts, and GAAP.
• Experience with consumer or marketplace unit economics, including CAC, LTV, payback, cohort retention, and contribution margin.
• Experience translating complex analysis into clear narratives for executive or investor audiences.
• Hands-on fluency with AI tools for analysis, research, and workflow automation.
• Startup or high-growth experience, including building financial processes from scratch, is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Insurance, insurtech, fintech, or marketplace experience.
• CFA certification.
• Vendor negotiation or procurement experience.
• Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, or planning tools.
