Strategic Finance Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid; San Francisco office (Fremont St) required 4 days per week, with Tuesday as the designated work-from-home day.

Annual salary: $199K–$265K.

What you will do

• Own the finance view of site, customer deal, and major hardware purchase decisions from early screening through final approval.
• Partner with Datacenter Operations, Supply Chain, Capital Markets, and Sales to align assumptions and decision frameworks.
• Frame returns, risks, assumptions, and trade-offs between sites, customer opportunities, and financing options.
• Design and maintain scalable systems, templates, and review cadences for consistent project evaluation and decision audits.
• Prepare and present finance analyses at deal and investment reviews.
• Own adjacent work in unit economics and advise the Public Cloud team on pricing and packaging.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate development, investment banking, infrastructure investing, or a similar role, including experience inside an operating company working with non-finance teams.
• Experience evaluating large, long-lived capital commitments and explaining returns and risk to a general audience.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers and operators, listen first, and understand the business before modeling it.
• Ability to build durable frameworks and processes using consistent, repeatable methods.
• AI-native approach with clear examples of creating and improving processes using AI tools.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to maintain or change a point of view based on the facts.
• Comfort with ambiguity and creating structure where none exists.

Nice to have

• Experience in datacenters, cloud infrastructure, telecom, energy, or another capital-intensive industry.
• Experience with supply chain or capital markets decisions from the finance side.
• Experience with unit economics or pricing in a consumption or infrastructure business.
