Accounting Manager (ASC 842)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work with occasional in-person events or team sessions, while regular office attendance depends on the specific role.

Salary: $90,750.00–$188,750.00 per year, with possible discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead global accounting treatment and ASC 842 compliance for lease contracts, including complex contracts and embedded leases, in partnership with Real Estate, Sourcing, and Legal.
• Use enterprise AI tools such as Claude and automated extraction workflows to review contracts, identify lease commitments, and validate document abstraction accuracy.
• Review and approve right-of-use asset and liability schedules, journal entries, monthly operating expense accruals, and cash flow disclosure packages.
• Perform advanced monthly balance sheet and P&L variance analysis and own month-end general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure data integrity, SOX internal-control compliance, timely issue resolution, and effective coordination with internal and external auditors.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting tasks and improve workflows across Oracle Financials and related accounting systems, while supporting ad hoc reporting and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience, including deep working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Experience managing complex balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close schedules, and financial variance analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data modeling, and pivot tables.
• Experience with modern enterprise ERP systems such as Oracle Financials.
• Demonstrated experience incorporating AI tools, including Claude or generative AI assistants, into daily business workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, autonomous working, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Active CPA license or equivalent professional certification.
• Public accounting or audit experience.
• Hands-on experience with specialized lease accounting software.
• Experience developing structured prompts or using automated reconciliation tools to improve accounting-cycle speed and data accuracy.
