Technical Accounting Manager

Location: Hybrid in Redwood City, California, United States.

Salary: $118,000–$147,500 USD per year.

What you will do

• Evaluate complex and non-routine transactions, research US GAAP and SEC regulations, draft technical accounting memorandums, and maintain global accounting policies.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate financial statements and disclosures for Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, Proxy Statements, and other SEC filings using tools such as Workiva/Wdesk.
• Review non-standard revenue, vendor, and licensing contracts with Legal, Sales Operations, and Procurement.
• Lead technical accounting discussions, quarterly reviews, annual audits, deliverables, and auditor relationships.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses for stock-based compensation, leases, capitalized software, debt/equity, and segment reporting.
• Improve reporting processes with automation and AI-driven workflows while designing and maintaining SOX 404 controls.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting regulations.
• Experience drafting comprehensive technical accounting memorandums and disclosures.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to financial and non-financial audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-growth SaaS or technology companies.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Workiva/Wdesk, and modern financial systems or ERP platforms.
• Familiarity with ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 350-40, and ASC 230.
• Experience with workflow automation and data analytics tools.
