Manager - Corporate Accounting - Internally Developed Software

Location: Remote for candidates currently living in the United States

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 per year, with possible sales-based or performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting for internally developed software, including capitalization assessments, cost tracking, useful life evaluations, policies, controls, and stage-based accounting.
• Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, tracking, disposals, thresholds, subledger integrity, and process improvements.
• Oversee operating and finance lease accounting, including ROU assets, lease liabilities, remeasurements, modifications, classifications, embedded leases, and contract changes.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities; review journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, flux analyses, and financial statement disclosures.
• Support external audits and strengthen ICFR through control documentation, design, operating effectiveness, automation, and system enhancements.
• Manage and mentor hub accountants and collaborate with Engineering, Product, IT, Legal, Procurement, Facilities, and other departments.

Requirements

• Required experience with internally developed software projects, including capitalization assessments, cost tracking, and useful life evaluations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and Certified Public Accountant designation.
• 7–10 years of progressive relevant experience in public accounting, preferably Big 4, or within a medium to large international organization.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, especially ASC 350-40 for software, ASC 360 for fixed assets, and ASC 842 for leases.
• Experience with US GAAP accounting, administration, and analysis, as well as SOX-compliant controls for multinational companies transacting in multiple currencies.
• Experience with ERP and consolidation systems; SAP or OneStream is preferred.
• Familiarity with lease accounting tools such as Costar or Nakisa.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and cross-functional relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
