Manager, Accounting

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite.

Salary: $130,000–$155,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Own key general ledger activities across monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, payroll, cash, and investments.
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, Legal, and Operations to resolve complex accounting matters and support reporting and audit requests.
• Execute and strengthen internal controls, maintain SOX compliance, and keep audit-ready documentation.
• Improve accounting workflows through AI, automation, and system enhancements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and experience managing complex general ledger activities.
• Strong understanding of SOX controls, financial reporting, accounting systems, and technical accounting principles.
• Ability to independently navigate complex accounting matters, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems without established processes or templates.
• Ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships and communicate financial information hirify.globally to accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, and curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
