Associate Manager, Accounting (Hybrid)

Location: New York City, hybrid; expected to work from the office two days per week. Work from (almost) anywhere is available for up to 20 days per year.

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end accounting for strategic partnership revenue programs, including complex models for revenue and expense recognition and balance sheet treatment.
• Own technical accounting for the loyalty program and evaluate the assumptions driving it.
• Lead accounting for leases, bad debt, prepaids, and accruals across multiple hirify.global legal entities under US GAAP.
• Manage close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead cross-functional workstreams with Finance, Product, Legal, Sales, Strategy, Operations, and Accounts Payable stakeholders.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, support internal controls and audits, and drive process improvements through better process design, system connectivity, and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with deep knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 and lease accounting under ASC 842.
• CPA certification or equivalent technical accounting depth.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex financial modeling, lookups, and pivot tables.
• Analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in public accounting or professional financial services.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
• Interest or experience in using artificial intelligence and automation tools to improve process scalability and quality.
