Senior Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Chicago; New York, New York, United States; or Remote - United States

Salary: $79,000–$109,000 USD base compensation annually, plus potential performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Ensure timely and accurate income statement recognition under US GAAP.
• Own key areas of the monthly COGS close, including cost allocations, accruals, reversals, summary analysis, and related journal entries.
• Prepare intercompany entries and reclasses across multiple entities, reconcile accrued expense and payable accounts, and explain monthly fluctuations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L account analyses and support timely monthly reconciliations across AlphaSense entities.
• Partner with internal departments, assess internal controls, and design processes and controls for emerging business activities.
• Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities, including AI-enabled workflows; lead accounting projects and support quarterly, annual, statutory, and sales tax audits.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines during a fast-paced month-end close.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to partner with FP&A and other stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, including accrual accounting, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany accounting.

Nice to have

• Experience with a Big 4 or public accounting firm.
• Exposure to usage-based or technology vendor costs.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and FloQast or a similar ERP and close management tool.
