HR Specialist - Southern Europe

Location: Spain (Remote-First); other location: Milano, Milan, Italy

Annual gross base salary: EUR 39,200–48,000 plus variable compensation

What you will do

• Support onboarding, lifecycle events, terminations, and the overall employee experience as the primary HR contact.
• Manage complex employee-relations cases, sensitive meetings, terminations, and legally sound documentation.
• Advise clients on benefits, compliance, workforce planning, employment contracts, risk mitigation, performance improvement plans, and compensation changes.
• Manage relationships with payroll providers, benefits brokers, and HR legal advisors while coordinating immigration and mobility matters.
• Provide in-country HR guidance across Southern Europe, including labor-law and cultural-nuance expertise focused on Spain.
• Lead compliance governance, process handovers, global standardization, automation, and AI adoption across HR operations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of HR experience.
• Fluent Spanish and English required; additional languages are a bonus.
• Deep expertise in labor laws and strong working knowledge of employment regulations across Southern Europe, with a focus on Spain.
• Experience supporting complex employee-relations matters.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Technical proficiency with HRIS, Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Zoom, Slack, and other collaboration tools.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Employer of Record industry.
• Experience working across other Southern European countries, including Spain and Switzerland.
