TPA Accounting Manager (Health Insurance)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 base salary annually, depending on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for key areas of the TPA entity, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and ERP uploads.
• Apply US GAAP and ASC 606 to TPA service contracts, including performance obligations and variable consideration.
• Account for performance guarantee exposure and related client credits.
• Reconcile ERP, TPA-system, and third-party data; investigate discrepancies with systems and operations teams and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare TPA financials for license renewal, regulatory and fiduciary requirements, and the annual audit.
• Document controls and workflows, coordinate with Tax, and lead reconciliation automation and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Advanced Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience performing root-cause analysis on complex, large-volume data sets.

Nice to have

• Experience in a TPA, health insurance, or broader insurance environment.
• Experience with performance guarantees, fiduciary accounts, or statutory reporting.
• Experience leading process-improvement or automation initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, QicLink, and Javelina.
