Revenue Accountant

Location: Remote within the United States; corporate roles are not hired in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Dakota, or Vermont.

Salary: $84,000–$108,500 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own significant portions of the revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analyses, controls, and documentation.
• Apply ASC 606 and company accounting policies to recurring and moderately complex revenue arrangements, researching accounting questions and escalating highly judgmental matters.
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue results, business drivers, trends, and risks, and communicate actions to leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Partner with Strategic Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and support accurate revenue recognition.
• Lead revenue accounting projects and process improvements, including automation and AI-enabled solutions.
• Monitor revenue systems, reporting, and data quality; investigate exceptions, support audits, and strengthen controls and close processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably combining public accounting and progressive industry experience; CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles and ASC 606, with the ability to independently own recurring revenue processes and apply policies to moderately complex scenarios.
• Experience delivering medium-to-large projects and recurring accounting processes, analyzing complex data, identifying trends or risks, and translating findings into clear actions.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including facilitating discussions and communicating financial information to Senior Manager-level stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP, revenue, or reporting tools such as NetSuite, Zuora, Looker, or similar.
• Ability to improve processes through automation or better ways of working.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information under HIPAA and follow security and privacy procedures.
