Packaging Engineer

Location: Athens, Georgia, United States; 5 days per week in the office. Up to 10–15% domestic travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Execute packaging design and usage solutions supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Design 3D engineering models using tools such as Creo and SolidWorks.
• Design packaging for products and parts and provide specifications and guidance to suppliers.
• Identify suppliers and determine optimal packaging methods for different distribution networks.
• Approve packaging for assigned product lines and monitor the quality and effectiveness of existing packaging.
• Evaluate packaging materials, automation technologies, and machinery; address transportation damage and report results.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of project management strategies and tactics, including planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling projects.
• Extensive experience with effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
• Working knowledge of packaging tools, approaches, and practices for protecting product and component quality.
• Extensive experience troubleshooting technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading and driving continuous improvement for cost-saving efficiency.

• Strong time management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and 3D modeling software such as Creo and Teamcenter.
