Wind Development Manager

Location: US, New York, NY; hybrid work environment with approximately 30% travel to project locations and hirify.global offices as needed. Projects cover the Eastern United States, including NYISO and PJM service territories.

Salary: $110,000–$137,700/year, plus annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead wind energy project development, including strategy, budgets, schedules, risks, development plans, and milestone advancement.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams covering interconnection, land, permitting, environmental, engineering, commercial, construction, legal, finance, and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead permitting strategies, permit tracking, regulatory coordination, public hearings, environmental studies, site surveys, and due diligence.
• Manage project agreements, consultants, contractors, expenditures, performance, contractor selection, and project handoffs to execution teams.
• Represent hirify.global in presentations, regulatory proceedings, project meetings, and stakeholder engagements while communicating risks, opportunities, recommendations, and decisions.
• Support financing, business development, pipeline reporting, and mentorship of less experienced development team members.

Requirements

• Approximately 7–10 years of experience in renewable energy development, project development, infrastructure development, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project or construction management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience is considered.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating cross-functional teams, with strong organizational, project management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project development, utility infrastructure, interconnection processes, permitting, and contracting.
• Familiarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, and alignment-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, with additional travel as project needs require.
• Experience using CRM platforms and developing project metrics and reporting. Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, consultants, and external development partners is preferred.
