Environmental Project Manager, Advisor

Location: Hybrid in Rosemead, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California, report to an SCE facility for a set number of days, and work remotely on remaining days. Requires up to 30% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory.

Salary: $129,200–$193,700 per year.

What you will do

• Recommend and implement actions to maintain compliance with environmental regulations while serving as a liaison with governmental agencies, external agencies, and internal partners.
• Develop, manage, implement, and improve compliance processes, standards, procedures, training, and operational plans.
• Evaluate environmental risks and develop programs for risk reduction and mitigation.
• Conduct environmental inspections and self-assessments and maintain accurate compliance records.
• Manage and coordinate environmental initiatives across vegetation management, distribution, transmission, and generation.
• Prepare reports and studies for regulatory agencies and protect company assets, sensitive information, and customer data.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in environmental and/or related compliance or permitting.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to manage project scope changes, schedule constraints, and financial responsibilities.
• Experience managing risks, interacting with agencies, and identifying process-improvement opportunities.
• Familiarity with permitting and compliance management under environmental laws and regulations.
• Ability to build relationships with construction crews, contractors, cross-functional project teams, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including peers, clients, and contractors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond appropriately to field operations’ business needs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
• Utility industry experience.
