Senior Consultant, Nonprofit and Public Sector Advisory

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; other location: Austin, Texas, United States. The role includes onsite travel to client locations and up to 30% travel.

Salary: $78,500–$126,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and participate in client interviews, review documents, and prepare findings, recommendations, organizational charts, process maps, and draft and final reports.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data related to staffing levels, organizational culture, and organizational performance.
• Conduct peer benchmarking, data analysis, and best-practice research to develop actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to assess current practices, identify improvement opportunities, and evaluate risks.
• Travel to client locations for onsite work and periodically attend industry conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s in Public Administration or a similar field is strongly preferred.
• At least 3 years of related consulting, government, nonprofit, or public-sector experience required.
• Ability to take direction, learn quickly, and work collaboratively as a self-directed professional.
• Effective time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize while managing multiple projects or processes under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately up to 30%.
