Graduate Civil Project Engineer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom; flexible work between the office and construction sites is required.

What you will do

• Support the delivery of civil engineering projects and work packages within defined requirements.
• Spend time on construction sites to support activities, monitor progress and quality, and promote safe working practices.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
• Develop knowledge of contract administration under NEC3/4 and bespoke contracts, and contribute to subcontract documentation.
• Attend and potentially lead technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, planning, procurement, tendering, commercial, customer and site-based teams on turnkey grid technology projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management completed or currently in progress.
• Awareness of health and safety, environmental and planning requirements, with a strong commitment to working safely.
• Willingness to work flexibly between the office and construction sites.
• Proactive and positive attitude, ambition and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and confidence working and reporting at all levels of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks with appropriate support.

• Exposure to civil engineering, construction or infrastructure sectors.
