Section Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Location: Plymouth, United Kingdom. Onsite work in a live MOD facility; candidates must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country. BPSS security clearance is required and may take up to 8 weeks.

What you will do

• Manage the preparation of as-built drawings, sketches, drawing registers, and recorded instructions.
• Maintain systems for recording completed work and update the Project Quality Plan.
• Review progress against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
• Assist with recording and testing workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, piling, and brickwork.
• Provide engineering support, resolve technical problems and queries, and manage setting out and dimensional control.
• Check benchmarks, setting-out points, workforce understanding, and calibration records for surveying equipment.

Requirements

• Passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and five years of UK residence are required for site eligibility.
• BPSS security clearance is required.
• Degree-level civil engineering qualification or equivalent is desirable, including BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSE Eng Tech, or completion of a Higher Apprenticeship.
• SSSTS certification.
• CSCS White PQP/AQP card.
• May be working towards Chartership or Incorporation with IStructE, ICE, or another appropriate professional body.
