Director, Strategic Programs (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States, ideally from AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, LA, MA, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OR, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, WA, or WI. Dallas-area candidates work from the Plano, Texas headquarters Tuesday through Thursday each week; regular travel to Dallas is required for quarterly leadership sessions, the annual company gathering, and in-person working sessions.

What you will do

• Lead 5–10 concurrent strategic initiatives, including partner launches, company-wide priorities, and new product launches.
• Define initiative goals, scope, timelines, success metrics, decision owners, and integrated delivery plans.
• Partner with the COO, CEO, and executive team on strategic planning, prioritization, leadership meetings, progress reporting, and risk decisions.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations by clarifying dependencies, roles, handoffs, and decision rights.
• Build program frameworks, repeatable launch playbooks, governance, risk management, escalation paths, and post-launch reviews.
• Drive change management, adoption, accountability, and business outcomes without direct authority.

Requirements

• 8+ years in program management, strategy and operations, transformation, or PMO roles, including at least 3 years leading complex, multi-team initiatives at Director level or equivalent.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent programs spanning 4+ functions with accountability for business outcomes.
• Experience building and using program governance covering intake, stage gates, charters, decision rights, and escalation paths.
• Direct partnership with a CEO, COO, or executive team to translate strategy into priorities and facilitate leadership planning sessions.
• Experience bridging business and technical teams on large technology or product initiatives and translating business needs into clear requirements.
• Ability to drive accountability without direct authority and build trust with functional leaders.
• Experience integrating change management and adoption into delivery and communicating program health and risk to executives.
• Experience working effectively in a remote environment while building relationships through regular in-person collaboration.
• Must already have the right to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, payroll, HR tech, or SaaS, particularly in regulated or high-stakes environments.
• Experience leading launches with external partners or enterprise customers.
• Experience sequencing cross-functional work in agile or sprint-based Product and Engineering teams.
• Experience helping a high-growth company transition from founder-led to repeatable execution at scale.
• Experience building a PMO or strategic programs function from the ground up.
