System Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Tainan, Taiwan. Full-time, onsite role with 20% travel; relocation eligible.

What you will do

• Support semiconductor system hardware bring-up, operation, troubleshooting, and field issue investigation in Taiwan.
• Manage incoming and outgoing parts, including inventory, tracking, logistics, and validation at the Taiwan Manufacturing Center.
• Coordinate technical activities and issues across multiple sites, driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions to closure.
• Act as the technical point of contact for the Taiwan Manufacturing Center, Taiwan Refurbishment Center, and selected Taiwan suppliers.
• Maintain the uptime of engineering tools and test fixtures, including test setup, execution, troubleshooting, communication, and reporting.
• Design, define, integrate, test, and optimize system architectures and specifications while managing technical risks and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with 4–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in AC/DC power, controls, sensors, relays, protection, grounding, and analog/digital I/O.
• Hands-on experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test equipment.
• Ability to read, develop, and modify electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, verification, and testing.
• Working knowledge of industrial communications such as Ethernet, RS-232/485, CAN, EtherCAT, Modbus, or DeviceNet.
• Familiarity with PLC/I/O, motion control, interlocks, and safety circuits.
• Strong technical documentation, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication in English and Mandarin, including writing procedures and reports in English, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to independently drive cross-site issues to closure while working with global teams across time zones.

Nice to have

• Understanding of electrical safety and equipment standards, with exposure to SEMI S2, NFPA 79, IEC 60204-1, CE, or UL.
• Semiconductor equipment experience, particularly with vacuum, RF, gas delivery, thermal control, robotics/motion, or process equipment.
