Senior Electrical System Lead, Workstation

What you will do

• Own electrical hardware requirements, platform block diagrams, schematic guidelines, and PCB stack-up specifications for workstation motherboards and peripheral add-in modules.
• Direct ODM implementation of high-power delivery architectures and high-speed interfaces including PCIe Gen 5/6, DDR5, USB4, and Thunderbolt.
• Lead schematic, layout, signal-integrity, thermal-mechanical, and DFX design reviews through tooling and fabrication release.
• Govern ODM engineering execution across NPI phase gates from concept through PVT and ramp, including technical syncs, action tracking, and critical board bring-up and factory trial builds.
• Drive hardware debugging, failure analysis, root-cause investigations, system integration, manufacturing test coverage, and technical sign-off with BIOS, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and power teams.
• Manage schedules, board respins, sample deliveries, BOM cost, ODM NRE expenditures, component qualification, supply-chain risks, and contingency layout options.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in complex x86 platform board-level electrical design and system engineering, including Intel Xeon/Core or AMD Threadripper/EPYC platforms.
• 4+ years of direct experience leading ODM/JDM engineering partners through full-cycle NPI execution from concept through PVT/ramp.
• Mastery of high-speed digital interconnects, high-layer-count PCB design rules, and signal/power integrity fundamentals.
• Deep experience designing and debugging multi-phase VRMs, transient load stepping, power sequencing, and power distribution networks for high-TDP compute hardware.
• Hands-on laboratory troubleshooting with high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, TDR, logic/protocol analyzers, and thermal imagers.
• Ability to hold external development partners accountable for engineering deliverable timelines and milestone budgets.
• Strong cross-cultural technical communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
