Product Manager, Payments

Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Own the product roadmap, strategy and backlog across Direct Entry, BPAY Payer, BPAY Biller, RTGS and Chequing Services.
• Define product vision, positioning and objectives based on market trends, competitor offerings, client needs and business priorities.
• Partner with Product Owners and delivery squads to develop and launch products, translate stakeholder challenges into requirements, and manage complex implementations.
• Monitor product metrics, service levels, costs, pricing, profitability and commercial performance.
• Develop scalable and commercially sustainable solutions while identifying revenue and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, schemes, industry bodies and internal teams; maintain documentation, sales tools, training materials and technical information.

Requirements

• At least three years of product management experience within financial services, including a strong understanding of electronic payments.
• Experience managing product lifecycles and applying product development frameworks in Agile delivery environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex product implementations and developing business cases for new products or enhancements.
• Understanding of revenue drivers, product costs and profitability levers, with the ability to interpret accounting and financial information.
• Experience preparing proposals for prospective clients.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in a commercial or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-paced payments product environment and strong knowledge of payments, banking or enablement products.
• Understanding of supplier and competitor offerings in the payments market.
• Experience working with payment schemes, industry bodies or external vendors.
• Experience working effectively in a hybrid environment.
