Quality Engineer

Location: Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Onsite role with 25% travel; relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Design cost-effective engineering solutions for products, systems, software, and related solutions using established engineering principles.
• Optimize concepts and designs through analytical and physical assessments to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop and execute parameters and test plans, validating mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications.
• Assess technical risks, define mitigation actions, and recommend design enhancements for reliability, security, process improvement, and performance.
• Collaborate with management and internal and outsourced development partners on design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Lead project teams, represent the mechanical/thermal team on complex development projects, prepare reports, and mentor less-experienced staff.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience and demonstrated competence.
• Typically 4–7 years of experience in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field; alternatively, an advanced degree with 3–5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, automation, CI/CD, DevOps, software development, software engineering, software development life cycle, APIs, microservices, scalability, and SQL.
• Knowledge of AWS, Angular, Java, JavaScript, Kubernetes, machine learning, Python, and React.
• Effective communication, results orientation, learning agility, digital fluency, and customer centricity.
• Ability to address moderately complex issues within established guidelines and provide direction to team activities and decision-making.
