Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer (MES)

Location: On-site in Kulim, Malaysia.

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing, equipment, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop, maintain, enhance, troubleshoot, and sustain Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications and integrations.
• Design dashboards, simulations, data analytics, decision-support tools, automated monitoring systems, and alerts for factory operations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, automation teams, and IT partners on digital manufacturing solutions.
• Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, and root cause analysis to improve manufacturing operations.
• Support process automation, manufacturing digitalization, data integrity, system reliability, and compliance with manufacturing standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related field with 2 years of experience; or a master's degree in a relevant field.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and semiconductor manufacturing operations.
• Experience with data analytics, statistical analysis, or data visualization through academic projects, internships, coursework, or practical training.
• Programming knowledge in one or more of Python, SQL, JavaScript, R, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with databases, data modeling, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to convert data into actionable insights.

Nice to have

• Experience with MES, factory automation systems, manufacturing applications, large manufacturing datasets, or operational metrics.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and factory operations.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL databases, Python, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
• Experience developing dashboards, web applications, or manufacturing support tools.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, AI/ML, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Passion for developing manufacturing technology solutions that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
