Director of Finance (AI)

Location: United States; compensation bands also cover the San Francisco Bay Area and California, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and North Carolina.

Base salary: $193,000–$233,000 USD annually, with possible variable compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations executives on financial planning, KPIs, resource allocation, and strategic decisions.
• Build forecasting models, scenario analyses, sensitivity analyses, and multi-year projections covering subscription, AI-native product, and marketplace revenue.
• Analyze acquisition economics, paid marketing, partnerships, attorney marketplace metrics, cohort retention, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and attach rate.
• Model AI inference and compute costs, optimize cost-to-serve, and refine unit pricing strategies.
• Lead operating reviews, budget-to-actual analysis, risk and opportunity reporting, and board, investor, and lender materials.
• Manage, coach, and develop a four-person corporate financial analyst team while implementing AI tools and quantitative frameworks.

Requirements

• 9–12+ years of continuous growth in corporate finance leadership.
• Mastery of quantitative modeling, including complex forecasting built from the ground up and pro forma sensitivity analysis.
• Experience independently evaluating commercial agreements, corporate integrations, and potential synergies.
• Executive presence and exceptional financial narrative skills for communicating with cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
• Ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders and align priorities through rigorous analysis.
• Experience preparing board-level presentations, institutional investor decks, and lender reporting packages.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, modern AI productivity platforms, corporate analytics systems, and digital marketing performance tools.
• High artificial intelligence literacy and practical technology integration skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional credential such as an MBA, CPA, or CFA.
• Experience in midmarket, rapidly scaling, venture-backed, or private equity-sponsored organizations.
• Expertise in SaaS, enterprise technology, and recurring-revenue commercial frameworks.
• Experience with two-sided marketplaces or professional services business models.
