Chief of Staff (AI Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week from the San Francisco office; remote-friendly culture with a San Francisco HQ.

Estimated base salary: $185K–$275K annually, with flexibility to tailor the cash and equity mix.

What you will do

• Run the Office of the President as an operating unit, managing workstreams, priorities, OKRs, staffing, and escalation.
• Build, hire, onboard, and develop a team of approximately four high-caliber operators.
• Drive high-stakes partnerships through value propositions, financial modeling, market sizing, deal structuring, and stakeholder coordination.
• Gather company and market insight, identify issues early, and optimize the President’s time and decision-making.
• Draft and refine memos, board materials, keynotes, and decision documents.
• Build AI-native operating systems and resolve ambiguous cross-functional problems from framing through completion.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience with a proven operating track record; consulting or banking experience is suitable when combined with direct operating results.
• Experience managing and developing high-performing people, with a clear approach to their growth.
• Ability to build financial models, structure deals, and reason about unit economics and margins.
• Exceptional, clear, precise, and organized writing skills.
• High ownership and ability to take ambiguous problems through to resolution without step-by-step management.
• Experience building or using AI systems as compounding operating capabilities; candidates will be asked what they built with AI in the last six months.
• Demonstrated growth rate and ability to take on capabilities that were not available six months earlier.
• Interest in shaping AI’s impact on healthcare and partnering closely with a founder.

Nice to have

• Experience with foundation models, AI infrastructure, or hyperscaler partnerships.
• Familiarity with how large health systems purchase, implement, and adopt technology.
• Exposure to adjacent healthcare markets such as revenue cycle, payers, or life sciences.
• Previous Chief of Staff, founder’s office, or strategy and operations experience at a high-growth startup.
