Tech Lead Manager, Product Growth (AI)

Location: Hybrid, 4 days per week in the Mountain View, California office

Base salary: $250,000–$300,000 annually; certain roles may also be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

Glean develops a Work AI platform combining enterprise search, an AI Assistant, scalable AI agents, SaaS connectors, flexible LLM choice, and APIs on a secure, open platform.

What you will do

• Define technical direction and lead execution for product growth initiatives across user-facing experiences.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and Applied AI to improve product awareness, activation, adoption, engagement, and retention.
• Lead full-stack engineers building experiences across invitation, sign-in, onboarding, navigation, desktop and browser products, in-product education, lifecycle communications, and product-led expansion.
• Establish experimentation and measurement foundations, including hypotheses, instrumentation, success metrics, experiment design, analysis, and iteration.
• Own initiatives from customer problem discovery through technical design, implementation, launch, measurement, and follow-through; contribute to architecture, code reviews, debugging, and complex technical decisions.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers as the team grows while establishing effective engineering practices and collaborating across Glean.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building production distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
• 1+ years of engineering management experience with a full-stack team.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and shipping user-facing products; experience in B2B SaaS, AI, productivity, collaboration, or other high-engagement software is preferred.
• Strong execution record and ability to lead engineers through ambiguity, make sound technical decisions, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Experience partnering with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Scientists to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver measurable product improvements.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to understand user behavior, define success metrics, evaluate opportunities, and assess experiment results.
• Demonstrated experience with product growth, experimentation, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, or other data-driven product optimization work.
• Strong understanding of customer needs and interest in building products that users discover, adopt, and use regularly.

Nice to have

• Experience building or working with agentic AI products, large language model applications, machine learning systems, or AI-assisted product experiences.
