Senior Mainframe COBOL / Natural Developer

What you will do

• Analyze account master, posting, and balance-maintenance programs to identify and document integration points for new pooled-account functionality.
• Design and develop account master and table structures, account opening and closing, participant linkage, sweep and reverse-sweep logic, allocation, interest apportionment, and closing-balance derivation.
• Modify batch COBOL programs and JCL, extend nightly and month-end processing, and maintain agreed batch-window limits.
• Enhance audit trails, exception reporting, reconciliation controls, and financial accounting functionality with accounting stakeholders.
• Create test data, unit and regression test packs, and parallel-run comparisons; investigate differences against current production output.
• Support implementation, account conversion, early-life production runs, initial-cycle on-call support, documentation, data-flow notes, and runbook updates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL development experience in a z/OS environment.
• 5+ years of experience with NaturalOne.
• 3+ years of JCL development and production support experience.
• 3+ years of financial or accounting systems development or support experience, including double-entry posting, balance and accrual maintenance, value dating, reconciliation, and month-end closeouts in a regulated environment.
• 3+ years of experience with Adabas and VSAM.
• 3+ years of experience tracing undocumented logic through copybooks, call chains, and job streams.
• Experience with mixed-estate integration, including COBOL-to-Natural calls and exposing mainframe functionality through z/OS Connect, IBM MQ, or REST services.
• Ability to take specifications through production implementation with limited supervision and explain technical changes to auditors, business analysts, and developers.
• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with cash management, account pooling, sweeps, treasury applications, or knowledge of notional and physical pooling, cash concentration, and intercompany allocation.
• Experience with CA-7 scheduling, batch-window analysis, and performance tuning.
• Experience with REXX, CLIST, Python, or Java for tooling, data comparison, and migration activities.
