Lead Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator

Salary: $111,650.00–$189,810.00 per year for this full-time position.

What you will do

• Plan, define, document, secure, and maintain Db2 for z/OS databases.
• Test database software, IBM utilities, fixes, and configurations in sandbox and upper environments before production migration.
• Monitor performance and high availability, tune databases, resolve bottlenecks, and improve reliability and efficiency.
• Execute database recovery tasks during disaster recovery scenarios and exercises and maintain recovery and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with application developers and technical support to troubleshoot failures and implement solutions.
• Coach and mentor less experienced DBAs; participate in the on-call rotation and occasional outages.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant experience in Db2 for z/OS.
• Experience installing, customizing, testing, and maintaining database systems in a production environment.
• Critical-thinking and solution-oriented approach, initiative, and independent ownership of assigned tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and application teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Db2 LUW experience.
• Programming, operations, or technical support experience.
