Device Operations Specialist (Payments)

What you will do

• Manage payment-device ordering, provisioning, configuration, deployment, replacement, returns, refurbishment, reuse, disposal, and inventory control.
• Maintain serial-number-level device records and reconcile the device estate with POS Portal, resolving discrepancies and tracking inactive, damaged, missing, unassigned, and end-of-life devices.
• Validate merchant orders, monitor stock, track configuration, dispatch and delivery, and communicate availability, delays, and fulfilment status to Business Units.
• Coordinate deployments, migrations, upgrades, device refreshes, activation, testing, incident investigations, and operational readiness for new devices and capabilities.
• Act as the day-to-day operational contact for POS Portal, Business Units, vendors, and internal teams, escalating overdue, recurring, and high-impact issues.
• Report on inventory, deployments, fulfilment, incidents, service levels, actions, issues, and risks while supporting audits, PCI controls, process documentation, troubleshooting guides, and automation.

Requirements

• Experience in device operations, mobile or telecoms hardware, IT asset management, payment operations, logistics, or a comparable operational environment.
• Experience coordinating device orders, inventory, fulfilment, provisioning, deployments, or returns.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate inventory, asset, and operational records.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and follow actions through to completion.
• Confidence working with external vendors and internal teams to resolve operational issues and keep stakeholders informed.
• Good spreadsheet, reporting, and problem-solving skills, including reconciling data and investigating discrepancies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain operational issues and next steps simply.
