WGL - Sr. Environmental Specialist

Salary: $95,400–$138,075 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.

What you will do

• Own assigned environmental programs and develop, implement, and improve compliance standards, procedures, and technical requirements.
• Manage environmental risks, regulatory commitments, compliance action plans, corrective actions, metrics, dashboards, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor and interpret regulations; support permitting, inspections, audits, reporting, investigations, and practical risk-reduction solutions.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Construction, New Business, consultants, contractors, agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring, represent Environmental in regulatory interactions, and lead complex problem-solving.
• Participate in environmental emergency response, investigations, corrective actions, and an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Environmental expertise applicable to regulatory compliance programs and risk management.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and integrate obligations into operations and project execution.
• Ability to develop and track compliance plans, monitor performance metrics, and maintain compliance documentation.
• Ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority and provide technical guidance.
• Ability to support permitting, inspections, audits, reporting, investigations, and emergency response.
