Superintendent, Gas Transmission & Distribution Pipeline Operations & Maintenance (Gas Operations)

Location: Hybrid, working from a remote office and an assigned work location in the Region 4 South Bay & Central Service Territory: Salinas, Cupertino, Hollister, Milpitas, or San Jose, California, United States. Up to approximately 25% travel is required.

Salary: $133,000–$226,000 in California or $140,000–$238,000 in the Bay Area, depending on locality and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead gas transmission, distribution, maintenance, construction, instrumentation, regulation, and mandated program work across a large geographic division.
• Direct a geographically dispersed team of approximately 60–100 employees and develop internal and external workforce strategies.
• Ensure work is completed within scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage capital, O&M, expense, and labor budgets while forecasting preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Oversee pressure regulation, odorization, instrumentation assets, inspections, work validation, and completion documentation.
• Respond to emergencies as a first responder and fulfill the Incident Commander role when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience and 8 years of job-related experience.
• Experience managing capital, O&M, and labor budgets.
• California Class C driver’s license or equivalent, with the ability to travel using a personal vehicle.
• Ability to pass federally mandated random drug and alcohol testing; the position is DOT-covered.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Leadership experience with union-represented employees.
• Project management or related experience.
• Experience in maintenance and construction.
