Payments Operations Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Remote

Base salary: $65,000–$78,000 per year, plus equity incentive eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Run weekly payment cycles, funding activities, checks, and controls to ensure member payments are accurate and timely.
• Coordinate with external payment partners on file delivery, funding, error reports, and issue resolution.
• Investigate payment issues end to end, identify root causes, and drive fixes with internal teams and partners.
• Support client and partner launches by setting up payment workflows and validating live payment flows.
• Resolve payment questions from clients, members, and internal teams while maintaining reporting, trackers, dashboards, documentation, and internal tools.
• Improve recurring operations through process improvements, automation, and AI tools; raise risks early and communicate status to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in operations, analytics, or a similar role.
• Experience working with external partners or vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, root-cause problem-solving, sound judgment, and rigor in sensitive operational work.
• Comfort working with financial data and reconciliations in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Clear, proactive communication with internal teams and external partners.
• High ownership, individual accountability, integrity, continuous-improvement mindset, and ability to deliver operational initiatives on tight deadlines.
• Willingness to handle hands-on operational work and contribute to company success.
• Comfort using AI tools to work faster and more accurately, with accountability for measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, payroll, benefits, or healthcare operations.
• Familiarity with file-based integrations such as SFTP, encryption, or file mapping.
