Simulation Engineer (Robotics)

Location: On-site in New York City, Geneva, or Zurich

Compensation: $350K–$500K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Train low-level controllers for robots using reinforcement learning in simulation.
• Build realistic simulation environments for model training, including environments, assets, physics, and domain randomization.
• Work across the stack from solvers and low-level controllers to high-level policies.
• Deploy simulation-trained policies on real robots across multiple embodiments.
• Set technical direction for simulation and support the growth of simulation engineers while continuing to write code.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with robot learning in simulation, including contact-rich manipulation, legged locomotion, whole-body control, or similar areas.
• Deep production simulation experience with environments, assets, domain randomization, contact models, actuator dynamics, and solver settings.
• Strong reinforcement learning fundamentals and experience with sim-to-real transfer.
• Experience deploying simulation-trained policies on real robots across more than one embodiment.
• Experience building simulation from scratch and creating systems that other engineers depend on.
• Experience leading simulation technically while remaining hands-on, ideally including hiring engineers.
• Experience with a major simulator such as Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.
