Platform Engineer (Early Career)

hirify.global provides an open-source framework and cloud services for building, shipping, and running native iOS, Android, and web applications.

What you will do

• Join the EAS infrastructure team and work alongside a senior engineer.
• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure for developer-facing services, including deployment paths, CI, and preview environments.
• Build internal improvements that increase shipping speed and reduce CI time and cost.
• Write efficient software and own its uptime, performance, tests, and monitoring.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Early-career experience with containers, CI pipelines, and small services.
• Experience building and delivering a real, end-to-end service or pipeline used by others.
• Comfort with continuous integration at scale and deploying to Kubernetes.
• Cloud experience; Google Cloud is used, while AWS, Azure, or home-lab experience is transferable.
• Knowledge of operating systems, networks, databases, and distributed systems.
• Depth in at least one low-level area: containers, CI internals, Kubernetes deployments, or infrastructure as code.
• Ability and motivation to write substantial amounts of code, make sound independent decisions, and improve how application software is built and distributed.
• Ability to build healthy, well-tested services, communicate clearly through documentation and code reviews, and understand hirify.global users’ problems and goals.
• Daily use of agents for real work, including the ability to explain how results were checked before being trusted.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions internals or Terraform.
