Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the US or Canada, or San Mateo, California; remote employees work onsite in the San Mateo office one week out of six.

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 per year, plus equity.

hirify.global is building Archie, an AI engineer agent for the physical world, using a custom agentic harness, structured design representations, continual skills learning, and custom post-trained models.

What you will do

• Own and evolve Archie’s BYOC deployment model across customer environments, including distribution, installation, updates, and integration with P-1’s central systems.
• Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure across multiple clouds and customer setups.
• Create repeatable deployment and operations tooling with Helm, GitOps, or similar approaches.
• Implement secure and reliable updates and upgrades for restricted or locked-down network environments.
• Collaborate with product, research, and forward-deployed engineering teams to turn requirements into platform capabilities.
• Debug production deployments and establish observability, monitoring, and debugging patterns for distributed systems.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating Kubernetes-based systems.
• Experience designing infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
• Experience implementing CI/CD or GitOps workflows across environments.
• Comfort working across AWS, GCP, and Azure and understanding their core primitives.
• Experience with strong security and networking requirements, including VPCs, identity, and encryption.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and operate effectively in ambiguous 0-to-1 environments.
• Continual development of AI-assisted approaches for technical work.
