VP of Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote; other location listed as NYC. US-based employment indicators include 401(k), FSA, HSA, and US health, dental, and vision benefits.

Salary: $240,000–$280,000 USD per year, plus Series C equity.

hirify.global is a Series C logistics technology company building an AI-powered freight and transportation planning platform based on research from Princeton University.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the engineering organization, including Engineering Managers, recruiting, retention, career pathing, headcount, vendors, and cloud spend.
• Set engineering vision, architecture, technology strategy, and operating practices focused on reliability, security, scalability, and predictable delivery.
• Define CI/CD, QA, testing, deployment, metrics, and lightweight processes for production software delivery.
• Partner with Product, Design, AI, and Analytics leadership to turn business priorities and optimization work into reliable, production-grade software.
• Represent Engineering to the executive team, customers, partners, and investors, communicating progress, risks, tradeoffs, and timelines.
• Ensure security, data privacy, and compliance standards meet enterprise customer expectations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including significant experience designing and building production systems.
• 3+ years managing managers and leading an engineering organization in a scaling technical or startup environment.
• Experience as a technical problem-solver and architect who has guided major engineering decisions and technology direction.
• Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS products, ideally for enterprise customers.
• Experience directing security practices and ongoing SOC 2 compliance standards.
• Strong collaboration and communication across Engineering, Product, AI/Analytics, executive leadership, and customers.
• Experience building trust, consensus, and effective collaboration within teams that already have managers and established history.

Nice to have

• Current familiarity with the company’s technology stack and development practices.
• Experience with logistics, transportation systems, or similarly complex operational domains.
• Experience growing a technical organization in a research-born company.
