Senior Java Developer (Banking)

Location: Hybrid in Poland, with an average of 1 office day per week; offices available in Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Lublin, and Szczecin.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and evolve backend services using Java and Spring.
• Design and develop REST APIs and microservices for large-scale distributed systems.
• Build synchronous and asynchronous integrations using messaging technologies.
• Contribute to scalable, highly available, secure solutions and maintain high code quality.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Analyse logs, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve existing solutions.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java, ideally Java 17 or 21.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and hands-on experience with microservices.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, CI/CD, and unit and integration testing.
• Understanding of application security, scalability, and highly available systems.
• Fluent Polish at B2+/C1 level is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, financial services, or transactional systems.
• Knowledge of payment processes.
• Experience with SonarQube, Nexus, or Artifactory.
