Backend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Krakow, Poland

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems.
• Build REST APIs and engineer microservices through greenfield development.
• Improve existing systems supporting card payments, treasury management, transaction booking, and crypto liquidity.
• Develop business logic with a focus on clean, maintainable code and fast delivery.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on products designed to improve financial inclusion and customer impact.

Requirements

• Demonstrable backend development experience with fluency in Java.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another science discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, with an ambitious and results-driven approach.
• Track record of building complex products used by millions of people in hypergrowth startups.
