Platform Engineering Lead (AI)

Annual base pay: $124,600–$148,200 USD; annual incentive reference value: 15%

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a high-impact MarTech or AdTech platform or major component while writing critical code in core services, frameworks, and complex integrations.
• Manage and grow a team of 6–10 engineers across in-house and strategic vendor talent.
• Translate architecture and product strategy into engineering plans, milestones, dependency sequencing, and risk management.
• Establish engineering standards and AI repository guardrails covering secure, maintainable, pattern-compliant code, prompt injection, unsafe dependencies, and data exposure.
• Drive AI-assisted development, automation, reusable templates, CI/CD, developer tooling, observability, incident readiness, root-cause analysis, and SRE/SLO reliability practices.
• Apply vector search, RAG, semantic caching, and token-overhead management, while partnering with Product, Architecture, Security, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including a proven record leading technical delivery for high-traffic, production-grade systems, and 2+ years leading or managing engineers.
• Expert-level JavaScript and TypeScript, plus strong production experience with systems-level languages; Rust is strongly preferred.
• Deep expertise in event-driven architecture, API-first patterns, distributed-systems reliability, and modern SQL/NoSQL data platforms; vector search exposure is preferred.
• Strong DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise with Terraform or CDK, including release engineering, environment governance, CI/CD, and operational practices.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams comprising in-house and vendor talent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for aligning stakeholders and explaining technical tradeoffs.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field required; equivalent education, training, and demonstrated experience may be considered.
• Must already be authorized to work full-time in the United States and must not require employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling engineering productivity through automation and AI-assisted or agentic workflows while maintaining strict security and quality boundaries.
• Experience with AI repository guardrails, RAG, and vector-search patterns.
