Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Base salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year; stock options may be offered in addition.

Develops intelligence infrastructure that provides access to open-source and proprietary AI models, including optimized production-scale inference and models for content safety, deepfake detection, sponsorship intelligence, and IP and publicity protection.

What you will do

• Build the product roadmap with product management, machine learning, QA, and sales teams in support of the long-term team vision.
• Lead and mentor an engineering team, helping engineers achieve their individual and team goals.
• Participate in technical design, architecture, and the full development cycle from design and development through QA, experimentation, analysis, and deployment.
• Drive product milestone delivery, continuous feature releases, and achievement of quality metrics.
• Implement and manage security protocols, including training, code reviews, best practices, and risk management in coordination with the Security Team.
• Maintain data-handling and information-protection practices and report suspected security or policy violations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or a similar technical field.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience; experience with distributed systems and large-scale application development is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with several programming languages, frameworks, and technologies such as Node, C++, Scala/Spark, SQL, Cassandra, and Docker.
• Ability to set roadmaps and goals for teams and individual members, delegate, mentor, and deliver results.
• Willingness to interview engineers, collaborate with recruiting, and support smooth onboarding of new team members.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and QA to deliver product features.
