Forward Deployed Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: On-site in New York City or Stockholm

Annual compensation: $241K–$390.5K plus equity. Only US compensation ranges are shown.

What you will do

• Recruit, develop, and lead an exceptional team of Forward Deployed Engineers in the assigned location.
• Work directly with customers to understand workflows, needs, and complex technical problems.
• Design, prototype, implement, and ship production solutions alongside the team.
• Own engagements from initial idea through architecture, shipping, and iteration.
• Set technical standards through architecture decisions, code reviews, and hands-on engineering.
• Translate customer deployment insights into platform improvements, product strategy, standards, and playbooks.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience across software engineering, technical architecture, and customer-facing engineering.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
• A track record of remaining deeply hands-on while expanding leadership scope.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across modern frontend and backend development.
• Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems.
• Experience owning complex technical engagements end-to-end.
• Exceptional product intuition and ability to work directly with users and senior customer stakeholders.
• Ability to move between coding, architectural decisions, engineering leadership, and customer collaboration.
• High agency and comfort operating in high-ambiguity, high-velocity environments.
• English communication is required because English is the company language.

• Worked on agentic AI systems or built with LLMs in production.
