Senior Software Engineer (.NET) (Healthcare): Architecting and building backend services, APIs, Azure infrastructure, and healthcare data integrations for a commercial health plan platform with an accent on .NET Core/C#, distributed systems, cloud engineering, and regulatory compliance. Focus on designing microservices and event-driven architectures, processing X12/HL7/FHIR/NCPDP data, and leading CI/CD quality standards and technical mentorship.
Location: Remote; must reside in the Eastern or Central time zones and work during weekdays 9-5 CST. Finalists must attend an in-person interview at the Dallas headquarters.

What you will do
- Architect backend systems using microservices decomposition, event-driven architecture, and distributed system design; produce Architecture Decision Records.
- Design and build complex .NET Core/C# backend services for claims, eligibility, and benefits logic, while contributing to Node.js services.
- Lead Azure cloud infrastructure design, including messaging, serverless architecture, data modeling, API management, and DevOps pipelines.
- Own healthcare data integrations using X12, HL7, FHIR, and NCPDP standards.
- Lead code reviews, establish .NET coding and testing standards, own CI/CD quality gates, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of backend development experience with deep .NET Core/C# and/or Node.js expertise.
- Architecture-level design experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
- Expertise in Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipeline design, mentoring, and code reviews.
- Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zones.
- Dedicated work area separate from other living areas, providing information privacy.
- Ability to secure company-sensitive documents and access an existing high-speed internet connection.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of backend or full-stack development experience.
- Direct healthcare technology experience in health plans, EHRs, clearinghouses, or health IT.
- Production experience with X12 5010, HL7 FHIR R4, or NCPDP transaction processing.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tooling.
