TL;DR
Azure Senior AppDev Engineer (.NET/Azure): Building and modernizing enterprise services, REST APIs, and data access components as legacy monolithic systems transition to modular, Azure-hosted solutions with an accent on secure coding, scalability, observability, and production readiness. Focus on refactoring layered services, optimizing EF Core and SQL Server performance, improving CI/CD reliability, and supporting resilient cloud-native delivery.
Location: Fully remote; occasional driving to client work sites may be required.
Starting compensation: $140,000 per year; final compensation is based on experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, internal equity, market trends, and geographic location.

What you will do
- Design and implement .NET 8+ features, services, secure REST APIs, and integration components.
- Refactor legacy modules into modern layered and service-oriented architectures.
- Modernize data access with EF Core and optimized SQL Server design patterns.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment reliability, release readiness, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, conduct peer code reviews, and collaborate with QA on testability and regression protection.
- Mentor AppDev Engineers and contribute to technical backlogs, epics, user stories, and technical product ownership activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise application development.
- Hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6–8, and Web API development.
- Experience delivering Azure-hosted applications with Azure App Services and Azure SQL or equivalent technologies.
- Strong knowledge of EF Core or a comparable ORM, SQL Server fundamentals, indexes, and query optimization.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools, Git branching, pull requests, CI/CD concepts, secure coding, and authentication/authorization patterns.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure Functions, API Management, App Configuration, Key Vault, distributed caching, or messaging.
- Performance testing and tuning across API and database layers.
- Observability tooling such as Application Insights, Log Analytics, dashboards, and alerting.
- Frontend modernization with React, Vue, or Angular.
- Experience with cloud migration and modernization programs involving multiple applications.
