Senior Backend Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Remote within UTC -1 to UTC +3 time zones; available from London, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Madrid, or Manchester.

What you will do

• Build sophisticated event-driven microservices powering clean, affordable transport and e-mobility financing.
• Own solutions end-to-end, from architecture decisions and development through production monitoring and decommissioning.
• Develop with C#/.NET and support cloud-based services in Azure.
• Implement observability, automated testing, infrastructure as code, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers across diverse teams in the UK, Europe, and Africa, contributing to high-quality output and coaching.
• Use AI coding tools, including Claude Code, as part of the engineering workflow.

Requirements

• Strong grasp of C#/.NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems using Service Bus or similar messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with Azure or another major cloud provider such as AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Testing and deployment expertise.
• DevOps culture mindset and experience owning the full software stack throughout its lifecycle.
• Experience working with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code or similar.
