Project Engineer, Defense (Navy Nuclear)

Salary: $87,000–$110,000 per year

hirify.global's Target Rock team develops and supplies valves and other equipment for Navy Nuclear applications.

What you will do

• Direct engineering activities for assigned Navy Nuclear projects from proposal through delivery.
• Provide technical support to contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, assembly, suppliers, and customers.
• Interpret purchase-order requirements, product specifications, codes, and technical submittals.
• Prepare and release design drawings, procedures, engineering ordering specifications, procurement specifications, and design or qualification reports.
• Direct qualification and other customer-contracted testing programs and disposition non-conforming equipment.
• Resolve technical issues affecting product flow, report project risks and component status, and travel to customers or subvendors as required.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and hold a government security clearance.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of products, industry requirements, and applicable product specifications.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.
• Ability to comprehend daily technical information and make independent decisions.
• The position may involve exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening; access eligibility is required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering Registration or an advanced Engineering degree.
• Power Plant Systems training.
• Experience with Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.
