DCF Building and Operations Manager

Location: Predominantly site-based at the Dalton Cumbria Facility, Westlakes Science and Technology Park, near Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK. Occasional hybrid working may be available subject to operational requirements.

Salary: £48,337–£59,390 per annum, depending on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Manage the safe, secure and effective operation of the Dalton Cumbria Facility.
• Lead and develop the local operational team.
• Oversee facilities, infrastructure, contractors, budgets, health and safety, compliance and business continuity.
• Work with researchers, technical teams, University services and external partners to support specialist research.
• Drive operational improvement and contribute to the facility’s continued development.

Requirements

• Relevant experience for the advertised salary level.
• Ability to manage people, infrastructure and operational arrangements in a site-based research facility.
• Ability to oversee contractors, budgets, health and safety, compliance and business continuity.
• Ability to collaborate with researchers, technical teams, University services and external partners.
