Reinsurance Analyst

Location: Hybrid/flexible in Austin, Dallas, Morristown, or San Jose, United States

Salary: $103,500–$140,000 base pay annually for Morristown, NJ and San Jose, CA; exact compensation varies by candidate and business factors.

What you will do

• Support the placement of reinsurance for hirify.global corporate and Spinnaker program business.
• Act as a reinsurance subject matter expert and liaison across Finance, Underwriting, Corporate Risk, CAT modeling and analytics, Claims, and related functions.
• Draft, review, and execute ceded reinsurance contracts, identifying discrepancies between negotiated terms and contract language.
• Monitor portfolio exposures, respond to events, and coordinate gross and net exposure modeling.
• Prepare complex ad hoc reinsurance reports for executive management and market presentations with reinsurance brokers.
• Coordinate document review, term implementation, process execution, state data submissions, and evaluation of reinsurer financial strength and participation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience with a reinsurer, insurance carrier, or consulting firm.
• Foundational understanding of reinsurance, P&C insurance, operations, and systems.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading projects and delivering work through execution.

Nice to have

• Reinsurance underwriting experience with assumed treaty or facultative business.
• Program or MGA underwriting experience, including delegated underwriting authority evaluation.
• Experience working with underwriting data and analytical tools.
