Lead Business Analyst (Non-IT, Fintech)

Location: Remote, US-based role associated with San Antonio, TX

hirify.global is providing contract business professionals for analytics and business intelligence work supporting USAA Federal Savings Bank.

What you will do

• Lead complex requirements gathering with business stakeholders, define data needs, and translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical frameworks.
• Use SQL and SAS to query, extract, manipulate, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources and structures.
• Develop business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and leadership-ready analytical deliverables.
• Gather metrics and support baselining, threshold development, alert targets, and ongoing monitoring across six Member Friction workstreams for 2026.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams on analytic infrastructure, data transformation, scalable pipelines, data quality, governance, and process improvement.
• Identify trends and process gaps, evaluate alternatives and financial payback, and present concise recommendations to leadership while supporting responsible AI and Generative AI/LLM applications.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL for querying and analyzing data.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAS for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools for dashboards, reports, and presentations.
• Advanced analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather complex business requirements and translate business problems into analytical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting findings to leadership.
• Experience working with multiple data structures and data sources.

Nice to have

• Full-time experience at a large bank, financial institution, or fintech organization.
• Credit-related business or analytical experience.
• U.S. educational background.
• Experience with data engineering, analytic infrastructure, scalable data pipelines, enterprise reporting, metrics, or process improvement.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and responsible AI practices.
